Uche Fuels Dominant Palace Win at Shelbourne.
Despite embarking on their maiden European adventure, Crystal Palace are learning very quickly. Missing star players like forward Jean-Philippe Mateta and defender Daniel Muñoz, the London club left Dublin with a commanding win that all but guarantees them a place in the Conference League qualifying rounds.
Another three points in their upcoming match against Finnish KuPS ought to be sufficient to seal direct entry to the knockout stages, especially following a previous setback against Strasbourg.
Squad Members Grasp the Opportunity
This match provided a chance for some of Palace's lesser-used players to impress. Christantus Uche, making only his second beginning after arriving on loan from Getafe, notched the scoring with a clinical finish. Striker Eddie Nketiah contributed a second, scoring for the second consecutive match.
The Shelbourne side that had concluded their league season proved outmatched even for a mostly rotated Palace lineup. The Londoners were further depleted by the news that Mateta and Muñoz are sidelined with knee injuries.

The contest was effectively over eight minutes before half-time. Yeremy Pino meandered past a series of weak challenges before coolly dispatching a shot past goalkeeper Wessel Speel to extend the lead to 3-0.
After the break, coach Oliver Glasner took the chance to rest key players like Kamada and Wharton. Substitute Romain Esse almost scoring his very first touch, only to see his effort blocked.
Esse was incredibly unlucky later on, seeing one shot crash off each posts before being gathered on the line. Uche also missed a sitter of a chance, indicating there is still room for improvement in his game.
The only concern for Palace was a second-half injury to Justin Devenny, who limped off. This paved the way for 17-year-old forward Benji Casey to make his senior debut, capping an otherwise perfect evening for the traveling side.
